According to an analysis published in the newspaper USA Today there has increased the quantity of American civil servants who gain 100.000 dollars or more, happening from 14 to 19 % during the first year and a half of the recession.
They amaze the numbers if we take into consideration that the current crisis has eliminated 7,3 million jobs only in the private sector.
The increase of the salaries over six numbers is observed both in the organisms of the Government and in top companies in technology.
This tendency has done that the average salary of the civil servant rises up to 71.206 dollars compared with the 40.331 of the private sector.
The civil personnel of the Department of Defense that gain 150.000 dollars or more increased of 1.868 in 2007 10.100 in June, 2009.
The Department of Work had only one official who was gaining 170.000 dollars or more when the recession began. Year and a half later, the number of personnel with this salary had raised 1.690.
Jessica Klement, director of governmental matters of the Federal Association of Agents, said that the civil servants have good wages because the Government hires the people much prepared like scientists, physicists and lawyers.
